We are so sorry for your loss Dale. Remember seeing your mom working in her garden. Especially recall going to the house one day to have her do an alteration to find her working on dresses for an entire wedding party, including the bride's gown - she was amazing.

Dale,
My dad (Paul Earle) told me about Mavis passing a couple of days ago and actually has shared Hannawa updates with me for decades. I just wanted to say that my memories of your mom are fond and that she was a kind and gentle spirit always. I remember her gardens and her feeding the birds! I also remember my chats with her when I was planning a wedding in my very early 20's! She had beautiful ideas to create my dream wedding dress!
My prayers are with you now and I know she is a rest from her labors. God's blessings!

We will always remember Mavis as our neighbor and good friend.  What a wonderful, kind, and caring women she was.    She treated us like family since day one... when we moved next door in 1991.  She always made our family something special for Christmas!  She was so talented.   She also treated our cat, Budda as her own.  She was one of a kind and will always hold a special place in our hearts.    We love you, Mavis and may you rest in peace now.

Dale,
We're very sorry for your loss.  She lived a life that many people, like us, had a great amount of respect for.  Our memories of her, especially from many years ago, will continue to remain in our thoughts.  Remember some of the phone calls/messages she took for your dad when he was an assessor for the Town of Pierrepont.

It was nearly 51 years ago that she did the alterations to perfection on Lorraine's wedding dress.  Your mom will be missed by the many people that knew her, certainly including Lorraine and me.

Dale,
I was so saddened when I just read of your Mom's passing.  It took me back to the seamstress days and the good Hannawa Falls people.
Please know that I'm thinking about you and you have my most heartfelt sympathy.

Dale...   We are sorry to hear of your Mom's passing.  She was a sweet lady and an unbelievably talented seamstress as I recall.  As a child, I visited your Mom occasionally with my own Mom when she needed sewing projects done.  May your Mom rest in peace.  We are thinking of you, Dale.

Aunt Mavis was not only an extraordinary seamstress, she was a talented and patient teacher of her craft.  Many times I would show up, unannounced, with a sewing project problem.  She would always stop whatever she was doing of her own work to coach me through it, as if she had all the time in the world.  I will always remember her every time I sew and am glad she is now at peace.
