I was so sad to hear of Bill's passing. I worked with him for 16 years at PHCS, and fondly remember him as a wonderful teacher and colleague. I enjoyed his great sense of humor and generosity of spirit, especially toward his students. My thoughts and prayers go to all of you.

Dear Pat and Family,

Paul and I are thinking of you all so often. Of course, we have been thinking so much of Bill and how much he meant to us. Honestly, it is really hard to understand that he won't be there when we get to Joe Indian this year. As you know, we really love our time at Joe Indian, and though we definitely don't get up there as often as we like, one of the greatest pleasures has always been being able to be friends and neighbors with all of you.

We both have so many really fond memories of Bill. One that I will never forget was a late fall when I was up at the lake alone – you were away somewhere, Pat – and we lost power for a few days. I think Bill really expected me to go home immediately! But I stayed. On the third morning, he stuck his head in the back door at our camp and offered me a cup saying, "Here you go, Friend. I thought you might like a cup of hot coffee." I was so touched that he called me his friend!

I remember how every morning when I woke up I would peek out the window to see if his truck was gone or not. I had a personal desire to see if I ever got up before him! And Paul knew that Bill would have the paper and could let him know the Yankees score.

Paul and I have been sharing these stories over dinner the last few nights. Paul reminded me how whenever we wouldn't know what to do about something at the lake—something that happened pretty often— he would always say, "I'm gonna ask Bill what he thinks". Always a good idea!

With love,
Patty and Paul

Bill has been a part of my life growing up at Joe Indian in the summers. I always tried to make Bill laugh. I always looked up to Bill and found myself listening learning and laughing. whenever I am up, I always checked to see if Bill and Patty were in. they love Joe Indian like I do. . I will always have fond memories of Bill when I am walking, canoeing, maintaining the association land, laughing and going visiting around the lake. The best to the entire family and I will see you at camp. Love and respect, Linda Johnner Carter

Pat and children, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I will never forget how Bill welcomed us when we moved to this area. He was probably the first person that I made friends with. Before I had a residence locally Bill and Patty offered there home to us when they went away on spring break. Bill and I used to drink coffee together. During these times we laughed and joked often. I enjoyed those times. Rest in peace Bill. You where a true friend I was lucky to know you.

Dear Pat & Family:

My condolences to you all for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. I've known Bill since we were kids up in Joe Indian, those great summers imprinted on my memory. I bought and rebuilt a camp two doors down from the Rodas almost twenty years ago, and Bill took good care of me. We've all lost a great person and a good friend.
