To Sylvia and Family

I have just learned of your Mom's passing. Even though I have not seen her in quite some time, I remember her behind the counter at Josies, and of course in the kitchen making the best pizza ever. Sylvia, your Mom and Dad were exceptional people, and will be missed by everyone who knew them. You are in my thoughts and prayers. especially today. Kindest Regards, your old friend, Marilyn (Elliott) Welbergen

Dave and and all of Mrs. Kingston's family,
So sorry to hear of your moms passing. 97 is quite a milestone. I remember Dave bringing pizza to the gunshop after Josie's opened up. I know how special moms are and losing them is hard, may God guide you through this difficult time.

Sylvia, It is hard to lose your mom. She was special to you and many other people, too. I have to tell you that I met her many times at Chris's when we were getting our hair cut. It got to be kind of a joke because she was there so often when I arrived for my cut. Hope she went peacefully and that you are doing OK.

Sylvia & Family,
I only visited your mother a couple times at your house and at that time we talked about her days as a WWII Rosie the Riveter. She worked in an airplane factory welding bolts inside the compartments. Rosie the Riveters were usually very petite so they could fit inside the planes. Then we talked about our Italian heritage as my paternal grandparents came from Italy as well. When Sylvia had her café/restaurant up the street on the south side of Main, her mother was in there working away. I only wish I had recorded Josie, but the memories will last on how proud she was of her heritage and her children. So sorry for your loss, but Sylvia took such good care of her Mom and that is very special.
