Synthia A. (Sharpe) Carroll

Synthia A. Carroll, 59, of Canton died on Thursday, April 4, 2024, surrounded by family at the Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse where she had been a patient for a few weeks following a stroke. Synthia received an “Honor Walk” as she gave the gift of life as an organ donor. 

Synthia was born November 21, 1964 in Canton, a daughter of the late Sterling and Ordetta (Klock) Sharpe. She graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central School and later attended SUNY Canton. She was united by marriage to David Carroll on January 12, 1988. 

Synthia was a waitress at local restaurants in Canton including the Best Western and McCarthy’s Restaurant, she did in-home child care and house cleaning and was “Frat Mom” to David and the boys. She loved being around people and would carry on a conversation with anyone, unless of course it was time for her Soaps. She loved gardening, bird watching and her dogs. 

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, David Carroll, sons Devin (Jaime) Carroll, Colin (Ashley) Carroll and Keegan Carroll, grandchildren Jordan, Jadyn and Kinsley. Also surviving are her siblings Alice, Judy, Billy, Roberta, Martha and David as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Calling hours for Synthia will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the service in the Madrid Cemetery.
