Jude E. Folk, 77, of Rensselaer Falls, died on Thursday, January 4, 2024 as result of injuries sustained being struck by a motor vehicle.
Jude was born December 12, 1946 in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, a son of the late Herbert Folk and Margaret (Heuston) Fleureton. He graduated from High School in New Jersey and from Fordham University in New York City.
Jude was a NAVY Reservist and worked for many years for the United States Postal Service. On May 9, 1990, he was married to Noemi Sabug. Jude was a past member and secretary of the Rensselaer Falls Fire Department and a member of Gideon’s International. Jude enjoyed reading most anything, mostly his bible and other religious scripts, his favorite being Psalm 91. He and Noemi are members of the Christian Fellowship Church of Canton. Jude had a love for people and would go out of his way, even in times when he was in pain to help someone any way he could. The only thing greater than his love of helping people was his love for Jesus and his faith. HE enjoyed travel, Music, History, Dogs, Horses and a good goofy comedy, his favorite was “The Jerk” with Steve Martin. Jude learned to sail on the Rideau in Ottawa in the 1980’s. Jude also liked going on adventures to see new sights and experiences.
Jude is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Noemi Folk, a son, Stephen Folk and daughter Nada (Neil) White, granddaughters Rachael (Devin) Gardener and Kristina Griffith (Patrick Clarkson) and great-grandchildren Archer and Charles Gardner and Camilla Clarkson. Also surviving are step-siblings, Kevin Fleureton, Jean Lanni and Cindy Fleureton, an Aunt Carolyn Murphy and numerous friends.
Calling hours for Jude will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Canton will be held in the spring.
