John Nesbitt Obituary

John R. Nesbitt, 40, of Colton died at his home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

John was born February 9, 1984 in Massena, a son of Micki and Shirley (Leitz) Nesbitt. He graduated from Massena High School, attended SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Canton and graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He spent awhile working in sales and marketing in North Carolina before returning to the North Country.

John enjoyed graphic design and working on webpages, he was very artistic and sort of an instigator who loved to tease people. Music and photography was a big part of his life, he would often drive around with the windows down and the radio up just looking for the perfect sunset shot.

Another part of John’s life was searching for and collecting vintage items to display. He also enjoyed being on the water fishing.

John is survived by his parents, Micki and Shirley Nesbitt, a brother Daniel (Alison) Nesbitt, nephew Spencer and paternal grandmother Gertrude Nesbitt.

He was predeceased by both maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Colton Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 304; Colton, New York 13617.
