Frederick Holloway Obituary

Frederick Michael Holloway, 73, of Lisbon, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at his home where he had been stricken ill.

Fred was born June 23, 1949 in Peterborough, Ontario, a son of the late William Holloway Sr. and Hilda (Morris)  Holloway. He graduated from Lincoln Park High School in Michigan in 1967. Fred worked for the Ford Motor Company for a year prior to entering the US Navy in 1968. He served on the USS Galveston and was Honorably Discharged in May of 1970. From there Fred went on to graduate from the North American School of Conservation in New Port Beach, CA.

Fred enjoyed travelling the world during his time in the Navy. He also loved to fish and the outdoors, dreaming of being a Ranger in his younger years. He enjoyed nature and would routinely spend time on or by the water fishing, or sitting by a good campfire. Fred was a car enthusiast and once owned a 1966 baby blue Mustang that was his pride and joy, which he often took out to cruise around town. Fred loved spending time with family and looked forward to family gatherings around the holidays and special occasions. He loved a home cooked meal, particularly Yorkshire pudding or Shepherd’s pie, but wouldn’t refuse the chance to go out to eat as well. He was a kind-hearted man who always wanted to give gifts to his family and friends, no matter how small.

He was survived by his siblings, William Holloway Jr. (Shirley Holloway) of Ohio; twin sister Jean Alexander (Sonny Bellrose) of Massena; Patricia Badlam (Francis Badlam) of Massena; and Susan Holloway (Sidney Monroe) of Florida.

Most recently, Fred had been living in a group home in Lisbon where he was well cared for. His family would like to extend appreciation to his incredible caregivers through the years including Sharon Ross, Judy Villlnave, Sue Ellen Reed, and Bonnie Taylor.
