William T. "Wild Bill" Dihrberg

William "Wild Bill" Dihrberg, age 91, of Canton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 5, 2025.

Bill was the eldest of nine siblings and is survived by his sister, Phillis. He leaves behind three sons, a daughter, several stepchildren, and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Bill was known for his adventurous spirit and love of the open road. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and traveled across the United States with his wife, Donna, who predeceased him in 2012.

A proud veteran, Bill served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed aboard the USS Dortch DD-670, where he traveled the world and earned the Battle Cross for his service during the Korean Conflict. He was present when the peace treaty was signed, a moment he carried with pride for the rest of his life.

In his later years, Bill enjoyed playing shuffleboard, singing karaoke, and riding his daughter-in-law's Harley. He cherished those moments of freedom and connection with family.

Bill was also a dedicated volunteer, giving generously of his time to the "Have a Heart" charity, helping those in need during difficult times.

Full military honors will be presented by the Canton V.F.W. Post 1231 on August 23 at 1:00 PM.

Bill will be remembered for his bold spirit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to his family, country, and community. He will be deeply missed.
