William D. Spencer, 95, of Canton, died on Monday, November 25, 2013 while at home. Born, July 30, 1918 in Cornwall, New York; he was the son of the late, William S. and Eva (Ketcham) Spencer. He graduated from Storm King School and attended Cornell University. On June 10, 1946 he married Harriet Noreen Couser. William was a mechanic in the US Army Air Force.
William worked for Crowley Milk Company, retiring after 35 years and was an independent representative for 10 additional years. He collected milk memorabilia including a large collection of antique condensed milk jars. William was a member of the Colton Senior Citizens and the Higley Flow Association.
Surviving William are his wife of 67 years, Harriet; a son, Duane Spencer of Allentown, PA; daughter, Lynne Hewitt and husband Terry of Canton; and by six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A brother Robert Spencer, a sister, Miriam Spencer and a grandson William Fay predecease him.
There will be no funeral service or calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the O'Leary Funeral Service of Canton.
