William N. Clark Jr

Mass of Christian burial for William N. Clark, Jr. 90, of Canton will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton in the spring. Bill died at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Friends may call at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Highway 11; Canton on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6-8pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Canton Rescue Squad, 77 Riverside Dr; Canton, NY 13617.
Surviving Bill are a daughter Sandra Clark of Canton; a sister Gloria Weld of Huntington, CT and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by three brothers, James, George and Albert Clark and by a sister Loretta Kreuter.
Born August 17, 1921 in Potsdam, Bill is the son of the late William N. Sr. and Loretta (Emerson) Clark. He graduated from Potsdam High School where he was an outstanding athlete. On August 18, 1945 he married Georgena M. Bowman at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam; she predeceased him in 2006. Bill was an Independent Insurance Broker for many years. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, 32 year member of the Canton Lions Club, past member of the St. Lawrence County Republican Party, where he was chairman from 1976-80. He was also a member of the NYS republican committee and a member of the St. Lawrence Golf and Country Club.
