Funeral services for Weldon K. Doyle, 76, of West Parishville, was held on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:00am at the O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton, with Layperson Martha Helmer officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Morley Cemetery. Mr. Doyle passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 while under the care of his family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Calling hours were on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
Surviving Mr. Doyle are a son Ernest Doyle of Potsdam, a brother Elmer "Buddy" Doyle of Rochester, NY; his companion Faye Foster of West Parishville; half brother John "Jackie" Cardinal of Auburn, NY; four half sisters, Carol Whitehead of DeKalb Jct; Faith Stein and her husband Francis of Clyde, NY; Audrey Cardinal of Pulaski; Sally Cardinal of Oswego, and Sharon Wiese and her husband Butch of Chateauguay, NY; three sister in laws, Casey Doyle, Helen Doyle and Sandra Doyle, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brothers Fay Doyle, Duane Doyle and an infant sister Sandra Cardinal predecease him.
Born April 9, 1933 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada; son of the late Anier and Mildred (Armstrong) Doyle. He attended Canton Schools. He worked for the Lineman's Union 1249 and for ALCOA as a lineman retiring at 62. He married Mabel Fifield on April 20, 1954 at the Methodist parsonage in Canton, the marraige ended in divorce. Mr. Doyle became a naturalized US Citizen on October 11, 1998 in Fort Edward, New York and maintained dual citizenship with Canada.
