Vivian (Elliott) Day

Lisbon, New York

Funeral service for Vivian Day, 81, of Lisbon, will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Canton. Vivian passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Ogdensburg where she was surrounded by family.

Vivian was born December 21, 1943 in Hammond, a daughter of Stanton "John" and Lulabelle (Haladay) Elliott. She attended local schools and later received her GED. On October 14, 1961, Vivian was married to Charles Day at the Canton United Methodist Church, Mr. Day predeceased her on July 17, 1988.

Vivian worked at the Moongate Nursing Home, later United Helpers and at Mitel in Ogdensburg. She enjoyed playing Bingo, dancing to and singing old country music, playing cards and dice games, going to the casino and traveling. She had been to all corners of the United States but he most cherished time was anytime spent with famiy.

Vivian is survived by four children, Barbara (John) McBath, Richard (Tammy) Day, Donna Gokey (Kevin Kinnear), and Robert Day, grandchildren John (Brenna) McBath, Tammi (Matt) Kozuch, April McBath, Richard Day Jr., Sarah (Curtis) Cowles, Jason (Bridget) Gokey, Daniel (Elizabeth) McBath, Whitney Day, Jeannette Day and Rachel Day, great-grandchildren Hayden McBath, Jack and Charlie Cowles, Parker and Victoria Phillips, Brody Richardson, Blake and Maren McBath and Annabella Roe. Also surviving are a sister Ilona Elliott, three sisters-in-law Carol and Betty Elliott and Gloria Sherman and a brother-in-law Roger Day.

In addition to her beloved husband Charles and her parents John and Lulabelle, she was predeceased by an infant daughter Lori Day and by nine siblings, Thelma Moorehouse, Jack Elliott, Arthur Elliott, Marjorie Smith, Lareatta Chambers, Beverly Petrie, Stanley Elliott, Glen Elliott and Bonnie Elliott.
