Valerie M. (Walrath) Flanagan

Funeral service for Valerie M. Flanagan, 56, of Pierrepont, will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton, with Pastor Michael Terrell, officiating. Burial in Beech Plains Cemetery will be on MAy 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Valerie passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2015.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Valerie is survived by her husband Larry Flanagan; daughter, Elizabeth Flanagan; son, Bill Mintch. Also surviving are four brothers, Jim, Tom and Kevin Walrath and Judson Foote; three sisters, LaRita and Minnie Flanagan and Paula Walrath.
She is predeceased by four brothers, George, Freddie, Emerson and Lyman Walrath.
Valerie was born April 24, 1958 in East Islip, NY, the daughter of the late Merlin and Bertha (Foote) Walrath. She attended Canton High School. On April 25, 1981 she married Larry J. Flanagan in Pierrepont. She enjoyed watching TV, especially Sci-Fi shows and scary movies. She also enjoyed flowers and going for walks.
