Thurman “Red” W. Coller

Thurman "Red" W. Coller, 68, of Winthrop, died peacefully at the Rochester General Hospital on Sunday, December 24, 2023, where he had been a patient for a short time.

Thurman was born February 23, 1955, a son of the late Everett Coller. He graduated from Canton High School and Canton ATC, majoring in computer science. Thurman served proudly in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged for his service. Thurman worked at Potsdam Specialty Paper for several years, retiring in 1993 due to illness.

Thurman enjoyed working on and building gaming computers and anything technology based. He enjoyed fishing and camping when he was younger, playing cards and loved animals, especially his dogs. He also had a knack for cooking and loved spending time with family. He was a compassionate and intelligent man who lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many.

Thurman is survived by three children, Chastity (James) Holmes, Brian Coller and Nicole Coller; by grandchildren Cassandra Coller, Destiny Sessoms, Mercedes Holmes, Lexus Holmes, Christopher Coller, Chloe Coller, Seth Coller, Alyssa Coller and Rose Wright; great-grandchildren Carson Amador, Aaliyah Coller, Nevaeh Holmes and Kolson Collins. Also surviving are sisters Barbara (Dennis) Mitchell and Jackie (Butch) Cota, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Thurman was predeceased by a son, Everett Coller in 2018.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton.
