Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa Desmond, 75, of Potsdam, will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Church, Canton with Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, celebrating. Friends may call at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton from 10:00 AM until noon on Saturday. Theresa died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 after being stricken at home.
Surviving Theresa are a son, George Armstrong Jr. and wife Ivis of Trenton, NJ; a daughter, Theresa Karen Armstrong of Poughkeepsie, NY; and a grandson, Sean Jubert of Millbrook, NY.
Theresa was born, February 25, 1938 in Potsdam, the daughter of John D. and Theresa (Rohrmoser) Desmond. She attended high school in New York City and obtained an associate's degree following high school. Theresa married George Armstrong Sr. in Amenia, NY, the marriage ended in divorce. Theresa was a homemaker, raising her children.
Theresa enjoyed cooking, travel, and arts and crafts. Theresa loved her animals, photography and singing and had a big, generous heart.
