Teresa L. Brothers

Teresa L. Brothers, 59, of Hermon died on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse where she had been admitted the day prior following a recent illness.

Teresa was born January 31, 1965 in Canton, a daughter of Roy Brothers Sr. and Colleen (Mouthrup) Brothers. She attended Canton Schools. Teresa was injured in an automobile accident early in life and was disabled most of her adult life. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and going to the casino gambling. Her most cherished time was spent with family.

Teresa is survived by her longtime companion, David Smith; mother Colleen Brothers, sons, Robert Reed Jr. (Kayla) and David Carpenter Jr. and by a daughter Melissa Gushlaw (Dustin); 14 grandchildren, Austyn Chase, Jeremiah Nichols, Taylor Labow, Damian Shippee, Ryan Colton, Haylee Reed, Mark Sawyer, Savannah St. Pier, Madison Goodelle, Bella Reed, Early Reed, Allen O'Riley, Brooklynn O'Riley, Heidi Gushlaw and Alexis Reed and four great-grandchildren, Bryant and Blakely Labow, Colson Sawyer and Rylynn Newman. Also surviving are three sisters, Lisa (Jeff) Bailey, Joyce (Jim) Ashley and Susan Thomson and a brother, Roy Brothers Jr., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teresa was predeceased by her father Roy Brothers Sr. and a granddaughter Kaydence Nichols.

Calling hours for Teresa will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton.
