Susanne Lindenmayer, 80 of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Surviving Mrs. Lindenmayer are four daughters, Susanne Katerinsky and husband Alan of Buffalo; Gretchen Sackett of San Francisco; Aimee and husband Bulent Ay of Turkey and Elisa Lindenmayer of Canton; a son George Lindenmayer of Canton; grandchildren Meagan Law-Lindenmayer, Bess Katerinsky and Chase Lindenmayer.
Born April 7, 1929 in Buffalo, New York, daughter of the late Dr. George F. and Lucy E. (Rubery) Etling. She graduated in 1952 from Syracuse University with her B.A. Degree of Urban Recreation Planning. She worked for New York State at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg as a Psychiatric Social Worker and later as Chief Resource Agent, retiring in April of 1984. She married Ernest E. Lindenmayer on October 3, 1953 at the Catholic Chapel at the Psychiatric Center; Mr. Lindenmayer predeceased her on December 8, 1994.
Susanne enjoyed Genealogy, collecting recipes, needlework, logic puzzles, and Jeopardy.
