Steven J. Glasgow

January 3, 1970 — November 21, 2024

Canton, New York

Steven J Glasgow, 54, of Canton, NY passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital surrounded by family following a brief illness.

Born January 3, 1970 in Potsdam, NY, Steve was the son of John and Ellen (O'Gorman) Glasgow. He graduated from Hugh C. Williams High School in Canton in 1988. Following high school, he attended both SUNY Canton and St. John Fisher University. On December 28, 1996, Steve married Kelley Fay. Together, they built a home, family, and life in Canton.

Steven was a vocational instructor at Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg. He enjoyed masonry, and completed many beautiful projects on the side.

Steve could often be found enjoying the outdoors and attending sporting events. He loved hunting, snowmobiling, and fishing, particularly ice fishing and walleye fishing on the St. Lawrence River. Steve's enthusiasm for ice hockey began when he stepped into the rink as a player in his youth and continued through decades spent playing, coaching, supporting Canton hockey, as well as rooting for his favorite team, the Boston Bruins. Steve shared his passion for sports with his children, Garret and Paige, and loved watching them play. The time Steve spent with his family was the foundation upon which his life was built, especially at their camp on Rainbow Falls Reservoir.

Steven is survived by his wife Kelley Glasgow, son Garret Glasgow, daughter Paige Glasgow; parents John and Ellen Glasgow, sister Julia (Adam) Thompson, father-in-law, Daniel Fay, brothers-in-law, Ed (Shirley) Fay and John Fay. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Aubrey Thompson, as well as Daylin, Hunter and Lennan Fay and Nala and Neo Fay

Steven was predeceased by his sister Mary Ellen Glasgow and mother-in-law Linda Fay.
