Shirley A. Wilson, 97 of New Port Richey, FL and formerly of Colton and Canton, NY passed on Monday, February 9. 2026 at the Dr. Jay Weil Center for Hospice while in the company of family and receiving care from Gulfside Hospice.
Shirley was born May 25, 1928, in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Lena Kearns and Clark Marriott. She attended school in North Lawrence, NY and married Cecil B. Wilson on December 13, 1945, who predeceased her on June 1, 2021.
Shirley was a cafeteria worker for many years at Canton Central School. She was a former communicant and Sunday school teacher at Grace Episcopal Church in Canton. She was an avid bowler and shuffleboard player. Shirley and Cecil enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers on Higley Flow in Colton.
Shirley is survived by two of her three children, William (Lucy) Wilson of New Port Richey, FL, Sally (Wally) Wood of Lisbon, NY. She was predeceased by her daughter Linda (Dick) Powell of Lisbon, NY. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc) Grady, Nicole Wood, Ryan Wilson, Curtis (Jessica) Wood, Stacie (Mike) Neaton, Andrea (Darrel) Hayden, and Richard Powell and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and daughter, Shirley was predeceased by her mother Lena Marriott, father Clark Marriott, brother Clark Marriott Jr., and two grandsons Travis Wood and Joshua Powell.
A graveside service will be held on May 25th at the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton, NY where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Cecil.
