Shirley Taberski

Funeral mass for Shirley Taberski, 73, of Canton will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in Canton with the Rev. Douglas Lucia, celebrating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Taberski passed away at the home of her son Terry while under the care of her family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Contribution in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley, the American Cancer Society or to the Humane Society.
Surviving Mrs. Taberski are three sons, Michael Taberski and his companion Mary Martin; Peter Taberski and companion Sue Fountain; and Terry and Becky Taberski all of Canton, two grandchildren Morgan Green and Joseph Tacchino both of Canton and a sister Janet Schwarts of Buffalo.
Born May 18, 1935 in Buffalo, daughter of the late Richard and Irene (Heiss) Schwartz. She graduated from Sloan High School in Buffalo in 1953. She married Conrad Taberski in Buffalo in 1954; he predeceased her on November 21, 1983. She worked for St. Lawrence National Bank, later Community Bank as comptroller from March of 1972 until retiring in September of 2001.
Mrs. Taberski was an avid doll collector, QVC shopper, gardener and supporter of the Humane Society.
