Mass of Christian Burial for Robert J. Ricalton, 80, of Canton, will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 1:30pm at St. Patrick's Church in Colton, with Fr. Doug Lucia, celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton, followed by a reception at the church. Robert died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Friends may call at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton, on Friday, May 4 from 4-8pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Surviving Robert are his wife of 48 years, Maxine; two daughters, Lori Ricalton and husband John Disharoon of Clearwater, FL; Lisa Robideau and husband Kim of Bloomington Normal, IL and by three grandchildren; Travis, Kamara and Riley Robideau.
He is predeceased by two brothers, George and William Ricalton.
Robert was born, June 3, 1931 in Ogdensburg, the son of the late John and Margaret (Dalton) Ricalton. He attended DeKalb Junction Schools and graduated from Canton Schools in 1949. He was a self employed carpenter and cabinet maker. He married Maxine Moore on May 25, 1963 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in South Colton, with Rev. Peter Ward, officiating.
Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and building furniture. He had a great appreciation for nature and wildlife.
