Robert G. Baderman

Robert George Baderman, 70, of Pierrepont died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his home.

Born April 6, 1948 at the family home in Rodman, New York, he was the son of the late Albert G. and Grace M. (Kenfield) Baderman. He graduated from Adams Central High School in 1967 and from the Wanakena Ranger School in 1968. Robert also graduated from SUNY Canton with a Bachelor's degree. He retired in April 2018 from the HudBay Zinc Mine in Balmat.

Robert was born and raised on the family dairy in Rodman. He was just an all-around good person.  He loved his family and his animals, especially his horses. A true lover of animals, he and Judy rescued many.  A marriage to Dee Sumptner ended in divorce. On February 20, 1990, Robert married Judy Forbes at the Beech Plains Church in Pierrepont. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on the front porch with Judy and watching the birds and wildlife.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Baderman of Pierrepont; his children, Connie (Paul) Recore of LaFargeville; Lynn Howe of Florida; Allen Baderman of Florida; Richard Baderman of Cocoa Beach, FL; Kimberley Baderman and companion Steve Derrigo of Rodman; Clayton (Kell) VanBrocklin of Russell; Lt. Col. Bernard (Tracy) VanBrocklin of Cranberry Lake and Maraya VanBrocklin of Ogdensburg. Also surviving are a brother, Arthur (Sue) Baderman of Rodman, best friends, Rick and Ellen Meilleur, as well as several grand and great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at the O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by a memorial service at the funeral home at 3:00 pm.
