Pyrites – Richard L. Sharlow, 84, died on Friday, May 8, 2026 in the comfort of his home where he was surrounded by family and under the care of St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.

Richard was born January 30, 1942 in Parishville, a son of the late Leo and Carrie (Westerdick) Sharlow. Richard married Judy Waldo on May 20, 1961. Together they had four children and spent their married life in Pyrites. Richard retired from Kraft Foods of Canton in 1999 after 33 years of dedicated service. Following retirement Richard was a driver for Parkway Chevrolet for nearly 10 years.

Richards was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and watching stock car racing.

Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Judy Sharlow, children Randy (Lisa) Sharlow, Joanna (Matthew) Davis and Joseph (April) Sharlow; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are six siblings, Roy Sharlow, Joan Willard, Cheryl Sharlow, Phyllis McBroom, Susan Walrath and Kate Hazelton.

In addition to his parents, Leo and Carrie Sharlow, Richard was predeceased by a daughter Kay Cota and siblings Wayne, Jerry and Morris Sharlow, Sally Wright and Carolyn Bevins.

Calling hours for Richard will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm followed by his funeral service at 2:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton.
