Memorial service for Ralph E. "Coco" Nieves, 58, of Canton will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the O'Leary Funeral Service, 5821 US Hwy 11, Canton at 1:00pm, with Rev. Bill Hart, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12pm until the time of the service. Ralph died on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his home.
Surviving Ralph is a son, Ralph Jr. of Puerto Rico; a brother, Henry Nieves of Bonneville, GA; a step-son Terry Gibbs and wife Robin of Canton; a step-daughter Lisa McDonald of Potsdam ; close friend Pauline Nieves, and by 7 grand and 2 great-grandchildren.
Coco is predeceased by two brothers, Joe and Ricky Nieves and by a sister Lillian.
He was born May 26, 1953 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Sam and Nieves (Canio) Nieves. Coco worked in a furniture store in New York City. A marriage to Pauline Nieves ended in divorce.
He enjoyed collecting things and his grandchildren.
