Peter R. Caughey Jr

Funeral service for Peter R. Caughey Jr. 75, of Lisbon, will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Highway 11, Canton; with Rev. Aaron Mishoe, of the Lisbon Wesleyan Church, officiating. Peter died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at home.

Surviving Peter are his companion, Cathy Snyder of Lisbon; a son, Peter J. Caughey of Ogdensburg;two sisters; Bea McGee of Cheektowaga, NY and Ethel Richards of Massena; Cathy's sons, Ricky J. Snyder Jr. (Tricia Snyder) of DeKalb; Matthew C. Snyder of Lisbon; James P. Snyder(Sherri Stone) of Lisbon; Michael R. Snyder(Gina Kearns) of Massena; Gabriel R. Snyder and wife Crystal of Lisbon and Joshua R. Snyder(Mandi Absalon) of Lisbon; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Peter was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, in February of 2000 and by a son, Kenneth, who died in 2006.
Peter was born May 6, 1936 in Lisbon, the son of the late Peter R. Sr and Audrey (Snyder) Caughey. He attended Lisbon Schools. Peter worked as a mechanic for Flack Tours, the Ogdensburg Paper mill and most recently was a dairy farmer with a farm on the Lawrence Road, Lisbon. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, the outdoors and he raised fallow deer on his farm.
