Pauline Marie Proulx, 88, passed away at her home, while surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was under the care of Hospice, as well as Lisa Proulx, her daughter in law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 11am at St. Mary's Church in Canton with Reverend Douglas Lucia celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

There will be no public calling hours.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Bernard of Canton, by six sons: Kevin (Patricia) of East Amherst, Thomas (Susan) of Canton, Bryan of Lockport, Keith (Rosemarie) of West Seneca, Stephen (Lisa) of Lockport, Jeffrey (Missie) of Ogdensburg. She has six grandchildren: Matthew, Melissa, Giustino, Brandyn, Joshua and Cameron, as well as one great grandchild, Madilyn. Pauline was also blessed with several step-grandchildren: Casey, Sarah, Anthony, Trista, Andrew, Melissa and Jennifer.  Pauline is survived by two siblings: Dawn Ouellette and Robert Seymour.

Pauline was predeceased by her mother and father, Jessie and Wilfred Seymour, as well as a brother, Aurel Seymour.

On April 2, 1928 Pauline was born in West Chazy, NY. She attended D'Youville Academy and Loretta Business School, both in Plattsburgh.

On May 14, 1949 Pauline married Bernard F. Proulx at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, with the Reverend Kusch presiding. Their marriage of 67 years was one of the greatest blessings in her life.

She worked as a payroll clerk at Montgomery Wards in Plattsburgh, as well as a book keeper at Plattsburgh Electric. Upon moving to Canton, she was the book keeper for the Canton IGA, the family business.

Pauline's greatest joys in life were her faith and her family. She raised her six sons, while also being an active member of her community. She was a member of the St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society, the St. Lawrence Golf Club, the Home Demonstrations Group, and the Bridge Club. Her interests also included the Yankees, sewing, crafting, reading, and collecting glassware. For many years, Pauline enjoyed spending the winter months in their Florida home, where she made wonderful friends. Pauline also believed in giving to those in need, donating to several charitable organizations. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's School, 2 Powers Street, Canton NY. 13617 or Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
