Pauline E. (Guyette) Freego

Memorial service for Pauline E. Freego, 87, of Canton, will be on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Pauline died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday evening.
Pauline is survived by three children; John F. (Diane) Freego of Canton; Judy A. (William) Murphy of Canton and Robert D. (Melida) Freego of Heuvelton; by six grandchildren, Susan (Scott) Freego-Gibbons; William R. "Boomer" (Ally) Murphy; Virginia (Mike) Jordan; Megan (Pablo) Murphy-Reggio; Jennifer (Richard) Blewett; and Krista Freego. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren; William R. "Tre"; Cassidy; Ethan; Piper; Lucia; Augustina and Lois; as well as a sister, Rita Richer of Massena.
Pauline is predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Freego; by a stillborn daughter, Mary Hope Freego and by brothers, Paul and Rowley Guyette.
Pauline was born, May 21, 1928 in Massena, the daughter of the late Meryl and Bertha (Rousselle) Guyette. She graduated from Massena High School. On January 1, 1929, she married Robert J. Freego and St. Patrick's Church in Hogansburg, NY. Mr. Freego predeceased her. Pauline was a secretary for the Cornell Cooperative Extension 4H program for 30 years, as well as being a homemaker and helping run the family farm.
Pauline was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Canton, she was a volunteer for the Church and Community Program for several years, and she enjoyed gardening, farming, camping and flowers, especially roses and peony's. She loved her family, her job with 4H and good chocolate.
