Paul D. Trombley Sr., 80, of DeKalb Junction, died peacefully in his home on January 13, 2026 where he was in the company of family.
Paul was born April 6, 1945 in Canton, a son of the late Frank and Genevieve (Conklin) Trombley. He graduated from Canton Central School, enlisted with the United States Army Reserves and service 30 years. Paul married Gloria Hendrick of DeKalb, she predeceased him August 10, 2012.
Paul worked for the NYS DOT for several years, retiring as supervisor. Paul enjoyed hunting, of which he was a member of local hunting clubs, Bass and Bullhead fishing, trapping and bowling. He had a knack for and enjoyed cooking but could be found at the Silver Leaf enjoying the food and conversation more over the last few years. He and Gloria used to travel quite a bit to Tennessee and Florida, but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Paul was also a past member of the DeKalb Junction Fire Department.
Paul is survived by a brother Jack Trombley, a sister Carole Trombley Toomey, grandchildren, Katelyn Trombley (Eric Brown), Franchesca Lawton and Randy Trombley, great-grandchildren Kameron, Karson, Addalyn and Teagan, and his dogs Buddy and Little Miss, his companion of 13 years, Inez Simser as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his beloved wife Gloria and parents, Frank and Genevieve, Paul was predeceased by a daughter Becky Trombley and four siblings, William “Bill” Trombley, Joan Knoop, Franklin Trombley and Marilou Douglas.
A graveside service and Celebration of Life will be scheduled for the spring.
