Paul B. Given, 86, of Canton, was born on May 20, 1928 in Watertown, the son of Seymour J. and Alice (White) Given. Marriages to Audie Sanderson and Janice Trembley ended in divorce. Paul married Sally M. (Clement) Provost on September 17, 1989.
Paul owned The Windfall House Restaurant in Cranberry Lake from 1988 to 1992. He worked for the Town of Clifton; J&L Steel for 27 years until they closed then moved to Clay, NY and worked for Allied State Equipment Co. in Syracuse.
Paul was a former fire chief in Cranberry Lake and Town Councilman for the Town of Clifton. He was also a member of the Oswegatchie Masonic Lodge #687, Fine, for over 50 years.
Paul is survived by a brother, Robert Given of Sunnyvale, CA; a daughter Darcy Thomas from his marriage to Audie Sanderson; and two daughters, Debra (Ronald) Hance of Star Lake and Pam Lobdell of Cranberry Lake and a son, Paul S. (Cindy) Given of Canajoharie from his marriage to Janice Trembley. Paul has 24 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two nieces.
For many years after retirement he resided in homes in St. Petersburg, FL and Cranberry Lake, NY. After his wife Sally's death, he had a new home built in Canton by his son-in-law, Raymond Lobdell and family, where he lived comfortably and happily.
Paul is predeceased by his parents, Seymour Given and Alice Reed and by step-parents, Salley Given and Arlie Reed, wife Sally Given, by sons-in-law, Steve Thomas and Art Flubacher and by longtime friend and former wife, Janice Howard.
