Patricia M. (Elliott) Hall

January 12, 1936 — May 26, 2025

Canton, New York

Patricia Margaret (Elliott) Hall, 89, of Canton NY, passed away on May 26th peacefully at home surrounded by her family and caregivers. Pat was born on January 12, 1936 to Thomas and Margaret (Lynch) Elliott in Passaic, NJ. After graduating from High School in Bergenfield, NJ, she attended Holy Cross Medical Center where she earned her RN degree. After graduation she followed her parents to Prospect, NY where she began her nursing career. Adventure beckoned and she traveled with a fellow nurse to Santa Barbara, CA where she worked for a year nursing Hollywood royalty and their families. Returning to New York she began working in the Rome Hospital where she became close friends with another nurse who invited her to her family farm in Brasher Falls for a weekend that would change her life. The friend's dashing younger brother, Francis Hall, would ignite a rumor that weekend at a town picnic (jokingly) that Pat was his fiancee. The joke stuck and they were married the following year on September 29, 1962. They would go on to have two children, Jean and Steven. In the following years Patricia continued her work serving others both as a nurse and through her church. She worked at Potsdam Hospital and later as a nursing home supervisor at Canton's Moongate and then as Canton Central's Middle School nurse. At Saint Mary's in Canton she served as a Eucharistic minister and volunteered many hours both at St Mary's School and more recently at St. Vincent de Paul's (now St.Mary's Thrift Store). She loved her kitchen time, her cows and our dog Zoey as well as her nightly "Oh-be-joyfull" drink. Her wit and humor were legendary in her family and with friends and neighbors. Patricia is survived by her two children, Jean (Wayne) Stowell and Steven (Jennifer) Hall, her brother Michael (Cynthia) Elliott, sister in law, Barbara Wilson, six grandchildren: Samantha Hall (Cody Primer), Abigail Morgan (Bryce), Lincoln Hall (Taylor Wing), Zachariah Sarro (Sumra Saeed), Owen Hall and Madeline Sarro; as well as four Great-grand children: Ezekiel Sarro, Nicholas Hall, and Marigold and Dahlia Morgan, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Beside her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Francis, a brother in law, Doug Wilson, sister in law, Carolyn Hall, a niece, Heather Elliott, a daughter, Kathleen, and sons, Michael and John, in infancy.
