Norene E. (Bessette) Sheridan

Norene (Bessette) Sheridan, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024 at the age of 89. Norene joined her late husband of 67 years, Neil Sheridan, in eternal rest.

Born into a large, vibrant family on a rural farm in Canton, Norene was the daughter of Burton and Nora Bessette. She is predeceased by her seven siblings: Nelson, Burton, Anne Scott, Warren, Reardon, Gerald, and Elevene Corbine. Norene's early years were filled with the joys and challenges of farm life.  She also carried a love for nature throughout her life.

Norene is survived by her two sons. William (Amanda) Sheridan of Hammond and Neil (Cindy) Sheridan, Jr. of Canton.  She was also a loving grandmother to William and Amanda's children (Krista Bianchi, Sarah Slowikowski, and James Sheridan), and Neil and Cindy's children (Dustin Sheridan and the late Shawn Sheridan).

Norene was happiest when surrounded by her family, whether enjoying a bonfire at Boyd Pond, berry picking, or simply sharing stories. Her laughter and smile were infectious, bringing light and joy wherever she went.

Norene's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to the Catholic faith. She radiated warmth and kindness, touching the lives of everyone she met. Her ability to make people feel loved and welcomed was one of her most cherished qualities.

As we say goodbye to Norene, we celebrate a life fully lived and loved. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and family devotion will continue to inspire and guide us. Norene will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.

The family will receive friends at O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton on Friday, February 9th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Canton.
