Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie M. Reilly, 87of Buck Street, Canton, will be held at O'Leary Funeral Service in Canton on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 10:00am, with Pastor Richard Lawson of Canton 7th Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery will be at a later date. Mrs. Reilly passed away on Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley at 6805 U.S. Hwy 11, Potsdam, New York 13676, or to the 7th Day Adventist Church, Court Street, Canton, New York.

Surviving Mrs. Reilly are her three children, Joseph Reilly of Tai Pei, Taiwan, Thomas Reilly of Canton and Adele and Anthony Puglieses of Norwood, two brothers Joe and Delores Foote of Fort Anne, and Ed and Charlotte Foote or Canton, and a sister in law Ethel Foote of Canton; three grandchildren Stephen Ames who is Stationed in Okinawa, Anne Ames of Maine, and Elizabeth and William Preuss of Utica and two great-grandchildren William and Victoria Preuss both of Utica.

Two brothers Judson and William Foote predecease her.

Born January 22, 1921in Canton, daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Eva (Boyce) Foote. She graduated from Canton Schools in 1937 and from Pilgrim State Nursing School in Long Island in 1939. She worked at several hospitals in New York City, Texas and California, as well as being a nurse, during construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway. She retired in 1983 from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center under Dr. Sampson. She married Stephen Reilly on March 28, 1946 and on June 1, 1946; they had the marriage blessed in Brooklyn by Father McCabe. In 1951 the couple moved to Canton. He predeceased her on May 11, 1991.

Mrs. Reilly enjoyed Gardening, Quilting, and caring for her cats. She was a member of the 7th day Adventist Church, Canton and a member of the St. Lawrence County Historical Society.
