Mildred D. Leo

Services for Mildred D. Leo, 94, of Canton and formerly of West Islip, were held last week on Long Island and were under the care of Chapey Funeral Service of West Islip, NY. Mildred passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011at the home while under the care of family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Surviving Mildred are sons, Alan Leo and wife Albina of Canton, Craig Leo and wife Deborah of West Islip, NY and a daughter Doreen Leo Radway and husband Randy of Canton; a sister Dolores Moore of Levittown, NY; grandchildren, Brian and Brendan Leo, Shaun Leo, James, Erin and Christopher Radway. Also, surviving are her great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mildred is predeceased by a grandson Scott Leo.
Mildred was born in New York City, February 17, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Servai) Devereux. She attended NYC public schools and Hunter College. On June 9, 1940, she married James Vincent Leo. Mr. Leo predeceased her in 1983.
Mildred has lived in New York City; West Islip, NY; Kissimmee, FL; and has lived in Canton since the death of her husband James.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US HWY 11, Potsdam, NY 13676. Arrangements are with the Chapey Funeral Service of West Islip, NY and locally with the O'Leary Funeral Service, Canton.
