Mike Anson

Funeral service for Mitchell L. "Mike" Anson, 61, of Russell will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 11:00am at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11, Canton with Rev. William Lansberry, officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Clare. Mike died on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at home with family while under the care of Hospice of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy 11, Potsdam, New York 13676.
Surviving Mike are his wife Linda of Russell; a son Walter J. Anson of Russell; five brothers, Walter Anson of Houston, TX; Arthur and wife Mildred Anson of Pyrites; Bert and wife Linda Anson of Sterling, NY; Linden and wife Angie Anson of Richville; and Randy and wife Tammie Anson of Caselton, NY; two sisters; Ann Wells of Cape Coral, FL and Connie and husband Donald Nolan, of Norfolk.
Mike is predeceased by two brothers, Francis E. and William J. Anson.
Mike was born April 21, 1950 in Canton, the son of the late Francis G. and Eleanor May (Branch) Anson. He graduated from Red Creek Schools in 1967. Mike was a mason with Local #2 Union of Albany. On May 1, 1971 he married Linda Lottie in Rochester, NY.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, building and barbeque.
