Michael Jon Whitcomb

Michael Jon Whitcomb, 63, of Potsdam passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026 at his home. His health had been failing for some time.

Mike was born December 6, 1962 in Canton at the EJ Noble Hospital to Elbert and Marthena (Van Brocklin) Whitcomb. He graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School and enlisted in the US Marines to serve his country. Following his service, Mike worked various jobs, including for UPS in California and at Big Lots in Potsdam after returning to the area. Mike enjoyed boating and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.

Surviving Mike are his parents Elbert and Marthena Whitcomb of Pierrepont, three children Alissa, Alex and Adam Whitcomb of Potsdam, siblings Randy Whitcomb (Sue Nichols), Rob Whitcomb (Shelly Girard), Cindy Mabayad and Tracy Whitcomb (Heidi Gore), his princess Kim Murdock, as well as nieces and nephews.

A graveside service and celebration of life will be planned for the near future.
