Mass of Christian Burial for Maurice "Mick" Harrington, 72, of Canton, will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas Lucia celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton. Mick died on Wednesday, April 15 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after being admitted the day prior.

Mick is survived by his wife Sheila of Canton; by a daughter, Keely Hutton and her husband Greg of Fairport, NY; by two sons; Grady and Patrick Harrington, both of Canton; by two grandsons, Aidan and Colin Hutton. Also surviving are two sisters, Gloria Martinez and husband, Dr. Phillip Martinez of Hoosick Falls, NY and Muriel Bartlett and husband Norm of Cortland; a sister-in-law, Margaret Podgurski and husband Harry of Canton and two brother-in-laws, Ed Fay and wife Pat of Massena and Dan Fay and wife Linda of Canton.
Mick was born May 17, 1942 in Groton, NY, the son of the late Maurice Jr. and Vivian (LaFave) Harrington. He graduated from Groton High School and from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Education. On December 31, 1969, he married Sheila Fay at Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Mick was a professor of Business Administration at SUNY Canton.
Mick was a member of the Knights of Columbus, president of "Friends of St. Lawrence Hockey", Eucharistic Minister and communicant of St. Mary's Church of Canton and former Little League coach. He enjoyed to laugh, play golf and watch all sports, especially local teams in Canton. Above all he loved his family.
