Mary C. (Dodge) Trippany

Mary C. Trippany, 93, of Canton passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 while at home with family. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Therese's Church in Nicholville, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton.

Friends and family may be received at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2017 followed by a praying of the Rosary. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to St. Therese's Academy; 68 County Route 55, Nicholville, NY 12965.

Mary was born May 14, 1924 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Myron and Annabelle (Sheldon) Dodge. She was graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Ogdensburg, and from Ogdensburg Business School with a secretarial degree. She was employed by insurance offices in Syracuse and Watertown.

On July 9, 1955 she married Charles A. Trippany at St. Mary's Cathedral in Ogdensburg with the Rev. Everette Denesha, officiating. Mr. Trippany predeceased her on June 19, 2008. After Charlie retired, they spent several winters in Florida.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Thomas and Bonnie Trippany of Canton and Florida, a daughter and her husband Sue Anne and Ronald J. Bell of Franklin, MA, a granddaughter Stephanie Anne Bell, a brother-in-law, Lawrence Trippany and several cousins.

Mary was predeceased by three sisters, Irene, Helen Ann and Barbara Dodge.
