Mass of Christian Burial for Mark A. Lee, 52, of De Kalb, will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, celebrating. Mark passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 while at home under the care of his loving family.
Friends may call at the O'Leary Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Contributions in his memory may be made the UCP of the North Country; 4 commerce Lane, Canton, New York 13617.
Mark is survived by his wife, Wanda; son, Shawn Lee; daughters, Laci Lee and fiancé© Brendan Mitchell and Christa Tehonica and husband Anthony and three grandchildren, Patrick, Audrianna and Ayden all of De Kalb. Also surviving is a brother, Michael Lee and wife Mary Beth of Ann Arbor, MI; four sisters, Sandra Scarano and husband Arnold of Liverpool; Janis Lee and husband Michael Secome of Canton; Joan White and husband Bill of Cranberry Lake and Peggy Hayes and husband John of Canton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, D. Rolland Lee on October 11, 2012.
Mark was born in Canton on December 28, 1960, the son of D. Rolland and Anne (Ames) Lee. He graduated from Canton High School and attended Canton ATC. Mark worked for St. Lawrence Zinc, various construction jobs, including most recently, the new Hilton in Watertown. He worked for several grocery stores in the area and was currently working maintenance at the Cascade Inn.
Mark was a member and finance secretary of the Knights of Columbus 1059, communicant of St. Mary's Church, Canton Junior Bowling coach for 20 years, coached Peewee Softball, and played for the Buccaneer Lounge where he was known as "Ug" Lee.
