Memorial service for Marion A. (Jones) Hatline, of Heuvelton, will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton with John Barksdale, officiating. Burial in Hailesboro Cemetery will be held at a later date. Marion died on Wednesday, March 13 at home.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of the memorial. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care or to the SPCA.
Surviving Marion are three daughters, Anne Norman and husband Donald of Lisbon; Susan Planty and husband Channy of Rensselaer Falls and Mary Lou Matthews and husband James of Canton; five grandchildren, Aaron Norman, Barbara Dodge, Lisa Hubbard, Jason and Jamie Planty and six great-grandchildren, Sara Dodge, Aalyah and Emma Williams, Brayton and Gaberilla Hubbard and Aiden Planty.
Marion is predeceased by a brother, Leroy Jones.
Marion was born, August 7, 1927 in Spragueville, the daughter of the late, George and Iva (Gilchrist) Jones. Marion graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1944 and from Watertown Business School in 1947. She married Paul Hatline on October 20, 1953 with Rev. Ward Crawford, officiating. Mr. Hatline predeceased her in May 2000. Marion worked at St. Lawrence University in the Alumni Office handling annual pledges and donations to the university.
Marion loved camping, gardening, boating, fishing, wild life and her dogs and beloved cats Ebony and Dede.
