Marie Saucier

Funeral mass for Marie Saucier, 88, of Canton will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas Lucia celebrating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery will follow the service. Mrs. Saucier passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Spicer Adult Care Home.
Friends may call at O'Leary Funeral Home on Friday, July 3, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Mary's School or St. Mary's Church of Canton or to the Spicer Adult Care Home.
Surviving Mrs. Saucier are four sons; Kenneth and Kathryn Saucier of Gouverneur; Gary and Kathryn of Carrollton, TX; Roy Jr. and Donna of Akron, OH; and Frank Saucier and Karen Thompson of Oxford, MA; two daughters; Charlotte and Winom Mahoney of Livonia, MI; Sharon and James White of Canton; and 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers Henry, John and George Lutz and three sisters Betty Berger, Frances Glenn and Teresa Hanlon predecease her.
Marie was born May 8, 1921 in Schenectady the daughter of the late Henry O. and Mary (Greisler) Lutz. She graduated from Schenectady Catholic School and from St. Rose College in 1942. She taught Business at Colton High School from 1942-1946. On August 8, 1946 at St. Joseph's Church in Schenectady she married Roy Saucier; he predeceased her on April 3, 2000. She was a volunteer librarian at St. Mary's School in Canton from 1973 until 1996.
Mrs. Saucier was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Canton, past member of the Altar and Rosary Society as well as a volunteer for many of the Church and School activities.
