Linda L. Maginn

Linda L. (Anderson) Maginn, 79, of Canton died on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she was in the company of family.

Linda was born February 25, 1946 in Massena, New York, a daughter of the late Robert and Evangeline (Moore) Anderson. She graduated from Massena High School and later with both a Bachelors and Master’s degrees from the University of Albany, in Library and Media Science.

Linda married William Maginn in 1969, he predeceased her in 2016. Linda worked first as a Librarian in Lake Placid before Malone, Colton-Pierrepont and Madrid-Waddington Schools before ending her career at the Mohawk School from which she retired. Anyone who knew Linda, knew her pride and joy was Hailey her granddaughter and her flower gardens. She also enjoyed reading, walking around the village and travelling to Florida with William.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Kristin (Corey) Jordan, granddaughter Hailey Jordan, brother David (Maryanne) Anderson and a nephew Peter Anderson. In addition to her husband William and parents Robert and Van, she was predeceased by a sister Christine Anderson and a niece Lisa Anderson.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at United Helpers Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and to the Emergency Room and Observation Staff at Canton-Potsdam Hospital for the wonderful care Linda received in her last months.
