Lillian R. (Phillips) Barrigar

Mrs. Lillian Rose (Phillips) Barrigar, 91, of Pierrepont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 while in the comfort of her home, where she was surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Lillian was born August 6, 1926 in Pierrepont, the daughter of the late Almon and Celia (Irish) Phillips. She graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central in 1943. On August 10, 1944, Lillian was married to Lloyd Barrigar at the home of her parents in Pierrepont, where the couple resided their entire married life. Lillian was a homemaker, helping to raise their children while living on the family farm.

Lillian was a member of the Boondockers Snow-Mobile Club, former member of the Eastern Stars, and a member of the Cooks Corner's Community Club. She loved to spend time at their camp on Cranberry Lake, animals, outdoor activities, dancing, playing cards, visiting and telling stories of the olden days.

Lillian is survived by her husband of nearly 74 years, Lloyd of Pierrepont, two sons, Lloyd (Kris) Barrigar and Larry (Elaine) Barrigar, all of Pierrepont; two daughters, Betty O'Shea of Russell and Linda Pusateri of Norfolk; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lillian is predeceased by a son, Keith; two son-in-laws, Bruce O'Shea and Mario Pusateri; and sisters, Elva Billings, Rena Davis and Jessie Yetman.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton and again from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Monday, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Beech Plains Cemetery.
