Kimberly A. Pierce

August 15, 1961 — January 19, 2026

Canton, New York

Kimberly A. Pierce, 64, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 15, 1961, in Potsdam, to the late Robert and Margaret (Connelly) Cashman, Kimberly was a proud graduate of Canton Central School. Her career began at Kinney Drugs, where she formed many lifelong friendships, before she dedicated years to St. Lawrence County as a mail clerk and later worked diligently for the Department of Social Services until her retirement due to illness.

Though her first marriage to Charles Van Vleet Jr. ended in divorce, the union brought Kimberly the greatest joy of her life—her daughter, Jessica (Van Vleet) Rowe. Kimberly later found lasting love with Duane Pierce, whom she married on July 7, 1995, at the Cashman family home.

Known for her feistiness and spirited nature, Kimberly bravely navigated life’s challenges, standing up for her beliefs and those she loved. Her warmth and compassion extended to everyone she met, and her involvement in the Girl Scouts during her daughter's youth left a lasting impact on many.

Kim's commitment to her family was evident in every part of her life. She lovingly cared for her mother up until she passed away in 2021 and also supported Duane and his family with her mother-in-law's care. Kimberly found joy in cross-stitching, knitting, and crocheting, especially when creating mittens and hats for her grandson. She treasured the moments with Duane, whether they were watching wildlife in their backyard or sharing quiet times observing meteor showers and the Northern Lights. Every moment with her family was precious to Kimberly, but her grandson, Robert "Robbie" Rowe, unquestionably held a special place in her heart.

Kimberly is survived by her devoted husband of over 30 years, Duane Pierce; her loving daughter, Jessica (Frederick) Rowe; her adored grandson, Robbie Rowe; step-sons, Kevin (Meg) Pierce and Jeremy (Kelly) Pierce; her cherished step-grandchildren, Nova, Harper, Indie, Caleb, and Daniel; her brother-in-law, Mark Darou; and her nieces, Olivia (Jeremiah) Sullivan and Abigail Darou. She also leaves behind great-nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she held dearly in her heart.

Predeceased by her parents, Bob and Peg, and her sister, Debbie Darou, Kim leaves a legacy of unwavering love, compassion, and vibrant spirit that will be deeply missed but warmly remembered by all who knew her.
