Kenneth D. Wallace

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth D. Wallace, 76, of Canton will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 8pm at O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Mark Gilbert, of East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church officiating. Mr. Wallace passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Carthage Area Hospital after being stricken at the home of his son where he had been living, while under the care of Hospice.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 from 6-8pm with a service to follow. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Harrisville Volunteer rescue Squad, 14226 Church Street, Harrisville, New York 13648 or to the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church, 142 County Route 23A, Harrisville, New York 13648.
Surviving Kenneth are his companion Modena Hooley of Harrisville; two sons, Kevin Wallace and companion Andrea O'Neil of Harrisville; Corey Wallace and companion Theresa Banker of Cadyville, NY; a brother George Wallace of Moira, NY; a sister Imogene and husband Walter Barrett of Saranac Lake, NY; and five grandchildren.
Several brothers and sisters predecease him.
Born September 6, 1932, son of the late John and Maude (Service) Wallace, he attended Ogdensburg Schools. Mr. Wallace served a term in the United States Army. A marriage to Carol Crippen ended in separation. Mr. Wallace worked for Agway in Canton, retiring in the early 1990's after 30+ years of service.
Mr. Wallace enjoyed softball; he pitched for several area slow pitch and modified teams over the years, bowling, he enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and was a communicant of the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church.
