Kenneth L. Gaurin

Funeral service for Kenneth L. Gaurin, 84, of Canton will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton. A visitation will be held on Monday beginning at 11:00 am. Kenneth passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Kenneth was born March 2, 1940 in Norfolk, a son of Gerald and Beulah (Griffin) Gaurin. Gerald passed at a young age and their mother re-married Benjamin McGregor, who helped raise the family.

Kenneth attended Pyrites Country Schools. A marriage to Corrina (Carrow) Gaurin ended in divorce. Kenneth later married Sandra, who predeceased him in 2008. Kenneth worked for 22 years for International Paper in Geneva, NY. Following his retirement, Kenneth did tree work all around the Geneva/Waterloo area, he enjoyed a good party and loved to instigate. In recent years, if the sun was shining, you'd find him outside enjoying it, even if he had to curl up and nap in a tarp.

Kenneth is survived by three children, Carolyn (Joe) Kepes of Saranac Lake, Roy Gaurin (Elsie Kirker) of Tupper Lake and Stephen Gaurin (Ilda Elliott) of Crary Mills; four grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Fregoe o fBangor, Benjamin (Amanda) Fregoeof Norwood, Andrew Gaurin of Pulaski and Robin Elliott of Lake Placid; great-grandchildren Emma, Kaleb, Jaten and James Fregoe. Also surviving are four sisters, Maxine Kaus, Marlene Hegwood, Joan Ballard and Denis Koranda, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gerald, Beaulah and Benjamin, he was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Gilbert, Norman and Elias Gaurin.
