Julianne I. (Burns) Bartalo, 77, of Canton passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she was surrounded by the love and support of her family.

Julie as she was known to most, was born April 10, 1948 in Malone, New York, a daughter of the late Bernard and Eileen (Normile) Burns. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone. On September 3, 1977, Julie married Roger Bartalo. Together the couple owned and operated Seaway Abstract Corp. for many years for which she was the office manager.

Julie loved her flower gardens and took great pride in spending countless hours tending to them. Her passion for flowers reflected her gentle spirit and her appreciation for life’s simple joys. She cherished time with her children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to be present for them. Julie was especially dedicated to traveling near and far to attend their athletic events and activities. Her unwavering support and presence in the stands became a source of comfort and encouragement for her family.

Christmas was Julie’s favorite time of year, a season she embraced with joy and enthusiasm. She delighted in creating a warm, festive atmosphere filled with love, laughter, and tradition. Julie was also deeply proud of her Irish heritage, carrying it with her as a meaningful part of her identity and sharing that pride with her family. Her legacy of devotion, beauty, and celebration will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Julie is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Roger Bartalo, daughters Suzanne (Brian) Hayes, Sara (Michael) Jwaskiewicz and Caryn (Grady) Harrington, and step-son John (Lisa) Bartalo, grandchildren Brianna and Brooke Hayes, Jadian and Addyson Andrews, Haley and Jalen Jwaskiewicz, Kellen Harrington and Ashli Buddenhagen, great-grandchildren Jackson and Elizabeth Buddenhagen. Also surviving are five siblings, Charlie Burns, Patricia Bianchet, Rose Shatraw, Madonna Burns and Barry Burns, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
