Funeral service for Judith "Judy" Cobane, 65, of Pierrepont, will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton. Burial in the Beech Plains Cemetery will follow. Judy died on Friday, October 24, 2014 while at home surrounded by family, under the care of St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.

Judy is survived by her husband Paul of Pierrepont; three children from her first marriage; a son, Travis Caswell and wife Regina; two daughters, Tamra "Tammy" Cary and husband Richard of Liverpool and Julie O'Boyle and husband Timothy of Palm, PA; a step-son Brian Cobane of Brasher; two step-daughters, Melissa Madill of Gouverneur and Amy Jo Merrill and husband Paul of North Lawrence and 17 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Steve Jessmer of Rochester and Robert Jessmer of Antwerp and a sister Barbara Sylvain of Philadelphia, NY.
She is predeceased by an infant daughter Mary Elizabeth and by a brother, Skip Jessmer.
Judith was born May 29, 1949 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Emerson and Gloria (Page) Jessmer. She graduated from Potsdam High School in 1967. She worked as a house cleaner, in the kitchen at SLU, the ARC in Norwood and at Potsdam State prior to becoming a CNA and working for United Helpers for 10 years. On May 16, 1987 she married Paul Cobane at the Potsdam United Methodist Church. Judy was a Born Again Christian and was a very faithful person. She loved shopping, especially at garage sales and decorating her yard and home for every occasion and holiday. Judy was a beloved mother, grandmother and wife.
