Joseph E. Phalon, 75, of Canton, passed over the bar on Thursday, June 11, 2009; he was born April 9, 1934 and was a retiree of Potsdam College where he worked in the maintenance department.
Survived by wife Mary E. (Corey) and four children; Michelle and Anthony Murray, Sarasota, Fl; Kathleen and Robert Barnette, California; Timothy and Theresa Phalon, Canton; and Thomas and Kimberly Phalon, Virginia; grandchildren, Mark and Thomas Phalon, Aaron and Phillip Barnette, Lindsey and husband Adam Brearley, Ryan and Megan Phalon.
His parents Mark K. and Marion (Murray) Phalon, wife Suzanne W. and a granddaughter Hillary Phalon predecease him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, Powers Street, Canton, New York 13617.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at O'Leary Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas Lucia, celebrating. Burial in St. Mary's cemetery will follow the service.
