Joey Griffin

Joey D. "Bing-It" Griffin, 54, of Russell died on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.

Joey was born July 30, 1970 in Canton, a son of Dennis Griffin and Connie (Ashlaw) Badger. He attended Knox-Memorial School and was graduated from Edwards-Knox. On August 28, 2004, Joey married Patricia Johns at the family camp in Hermon.

Joey loved to tinker and was a "Joe of all trades". He was a mechanic, roofer and carpenter, he worked with Harry Harmer on many bridge projects and with Gordon's Plumbing and Heating. A real North Country fella he loved fishing and snowmobiling, watching westerns and doing Sudoku puzzles.

Joey is survived by his wife Patricia, three daughters Allyson Barker, Danielle Griffin (Paine Morse), Jaimie Griffin (Dalton Seward), a son Joey Griffin Jr. (Aniston Huckle), his parents, Dennis and Connie, a grandson Remington Seward, brothers, Stephen (Amber) Griffin and Bradley (Penny) Griffin, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joey was predeceased by his father-in-law Kenneth "Bear" Johns, a brother, John Cook and by his chosen brothers, Wally Anson, Billy Anson and Mark Hart.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at the funeral home, burial in the Hermon Cemetery will follow.
