Jessie H. Collins

Funeral mass for Jessie H. Collins, 100, of Canton will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in Canton, with Rev. Douglas Lucia celebrating. A remembrance gathering will be held at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service. Spring burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton. Jessie passed away on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at the United Helpers Maplewood Campus, Canton.
Surviving Mrs. Collins are two daughters, Pauline and husband Bernard Proulx of Canton; Dawn Collins Ouellette and husband Richard of Stuyvesant; a son Robert Seymour and wife Valida of West Chazy; a sister Marie Rivers of Schenectady; 17 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
A son AJ Seymour, brother Oreal Fountain and sisters Viola Soucy and Marilyn Kimball predecease her.
Jessie was born March 15, 1909 in Plattsburg, daughter of the late Oreal and Mabel (Conway) Fountain. She married Henry J. Collins on November 22, 1937 in South Hero, VT. Mr. Collins predeceased her in 1996. She was a homemaker. Jessie loved to dance, was an avid seamstress, a member of the Canton Housing Council Seniors and past member of the St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society.
